Whilst our products are all inclusive and suitable for all ages, our challenge rating can be used as an indicator for the amount of elements and complexity within the puzzle. This can help guide you for choosing which challenge rating would be best for your group and event.

The rating system is out of five, where 1 out of 5 is the most straightforward and 5 out of 5 is the most involved. Rest assured, they are all a lot of fun and aren't too conceptually difficult. Remember, if you get stumped, there are always the solutions!

Challenge Rating 1: Ideal for families with young children or anyone after a light, feel-good puzzle that everyone can enjoy together.

Examples: Adventure Hunt Pirates, Spies & Egypt

Challenge Rating 2: Great for groups with teens or adults who want something easy to follow yet fun and engaging from start to finish.

Examples: Adventure Hunt Magic, Jurassic & North Pole

Challenge Rating 3: Best suited to adults or mixed-age groups ready for a deeper challenge that takes teamwork and a bit more brainpower.

Examples: Detective Mystery Missing Cupcake & Holiday Cruise

Challenge Rating 4-5: Still to come! At this stage, our highest challenge rating is 3 as we continue to evolve our product line, this gives us scope to create new and potentially more challenging sets in the future.

3 - 6 of us?

We recommend Adventure Hunt. Simply open every bonbon and one or a few lucky people can play more than one role! Just be sure to open up all six in each pack, as you will need all of them to find the treasure.

7 - 10 of us?

Detective Mystery (packs of 10) is probably the best option for your party.

Alternatively, you could get two packs of Adventure Hunt and have two groups play different puzzles.

Just be sure to open up all the bonbons in each pack, as you will need all of them to solve the puzzle.

A single Adventure Hunt pack can still be suitable for up to seven or eight people and just have a couple of people team up; however, it will be a quicker solve.

11 - 12 of us?

Option 1 (Most Common): Two Adventure Hunt packs and splitting the party into two groups. You can either opt to have two different themes or two of the same theme and compare how fast the two groups are (if you’re feeling competitive).

Most people prefer to have two different themes, which also makes a great conversation point afterwards as you talk about the different experiences.

If you wanted, you can also reset your puzzles and give the other group the puzzle they didn't complete.

Option 2: Detective Mystery and have a few people share bonbons.

Just be sure to open up all the bonbons in each pack, as you will need all of them to solve the puzzle.

13+ ?

You can apply the same reasoning as above and just add more packs as needed.

Whilst Adventure Hunt comes in packs of 6 and Detective mystery in packs of 10, they are also a different difficulty and duration.

Adventure Hunt is our most popular range and is perfect for those wanting a fun puzzle game to accompany their event. The 3D printed contents of Adventure Hunt are more tactile and intricate and work well in a wider variety of groups. Explainer video here.

Detective Mystery is a bit more involved and will take longer to solve. While it is suitable for all ages and not overly complex, it does require more of the group to participate (most groups successfully solve the mystery, but time to solve can vary). Explainer video here.

Ultimately, either range is sure to be a hit for you and your party!

All packs of a certain theme are the same (e.g. Spies theme always has the same puzzle to be solved and there are the same set of six bonbons contained within each set).

Each theme has completely different artefacts and puzzles inside (e.g. the Spies and Pirates individual bonbons and story are different) but they follow a similar style and challenge difficulty.

The games can be reset and replayed with a different group or the same group if enough time has passed and the group's forgotten the solution. We have reset instructions available here.

The bonbon wrapping paper, paper contents and party hat are recyclable.

We use PLA for 3D printing of feature content pieces. PLA is a renewable thermoplastic derived from the starch of plants such as corn, sugar cane and sugar beet.

In 2024, we shifted from the traditional loud snaps to a more relaxed experience with silent snaps. This was in response to the evolving preferences of our diverse clientele and a commitment to environmental sustainability, and was not only about transforming our products but also about creating a more inclusive and eco-friendly festive experience for all.

It was important to us that we didn’t just remove the snaps, but instead innovated and created something that could still deliver the “tug-of-war” style resistance we are all used to. So, we have developed an eco-friendly snap that will produce a quieter sound, while still providing resistance as you pull the bonbons apart. You can read more here.

The bonbons are hand made by a small family business in Brisbane. Feature contents of the Adventure Hunt and Detective Mystery bonbons are all designed and 3D printed by us.
